Split reports by group
Sending one 200-page PDF to eight contractors means each of them reads seven-eighths of someone else's work. Splitting generates one report per group instead.
Required role: Manager or Collaborator.
How it works
- Configure the report as usual, including the group by dimension — Company, Zone, Trade, or Phase.
- Turn on split by group.
- Generate.
Result: instead of one file, Builddar produces one downloadable report per group. Each one carries the group's name, and contains only that group's issues.
Preview how many files you'll get
Before generating, ask for a split preview: Builddar lists the groups that currently have at least one matching issue — exactly one entry per file you'd get — so you know whether you're about to produce 3 files or 40.
A split report is limited to 50 groups. If your filters would produce more, tighten them (or group on a coarser dimension) before generating.
Groups with no matching issues produce no file. A company with nothing open this month simply doesn't appear.
Split by company, then email each one
This is the reason splitting exists. When you split by company, each report is tied to that company — so Builddar can send each contractor their own file automatically.
- Split by company and generate.
- Open the report and choose to send it by email.
- Select the recipients.
Result: each recipient receives the report for their own company — not the combined one, and not another company's. Recipients who aren't attached to any of the groups get the full report if their role allows it.
