Manage companies
A company is a firm working on the project — a trade contractor, an architect, the client, and so on. Project members belong to a company, issues are often assigned to a company, and guests only see their own company's work.
Each company has a type (configured for your organization) and a set of trades — the skills or disciplines it covers, such as Plumbing or Electrical.
Required role:
- Viewing companies: any project member (Manager, Collaborator, Guest).
- Creating, editing, and deleting companies, and managing their trades: Project Manager or Organization Admin.
Add a company
- Open the project's Companies area and select New Company (or Add company).
- Enter the company's Name.
- Choose the Company type (these come from your organization's settings).
- Optionally add:
- Email, Phone, Address
- A Logo
- The Trades the company covers
- Save.
Result: the company appears in the project and can be assigned to members and issues.
View a company and its members
- Open the Companies area and select a company.
- You'll see its details, its assigned trades, and the number of members.
- Open the company's Members to see which project members belong to it.
Manage a company's trades
Trades tell you what work a company covers. You can add and remove them at any time.
Add trades
- Open the company and go to its Trades.
- Add one or more existing trades from your organization's list, or create new trade names on the spot.
Result: the trades are attached to the company. Adding a trade that's already assigned does nothing — it won't create duplicates.
Remove trades
- Open the company's Trades.
- Remove a single trade, or remove several at once.
Result: the trades are unassigned from the company. You can re-add them later.
Trades are defined at the organization level and shared across all projects. When you create a new trade name here, it's added to your organization's trade list.
