Create a project

Creating a project sets up a new container for your issues, zones, drawings, and reports. A new project starts in setup mode, where you configure its essentials before making it live.

Required role: Organization Admin.

Create the project

  1. From your organization's project list, select New Project.
  2. Enter a Name (required).
  3. Optionally fill in any of:
    • Description
    • Cover image
    • Project code — an external reference code for the project
    • Start date and End date
    • The site address — address line 1 and 2, city, postal code, country
  4. Create the project.

Result: the project is created in setup mode. Only organization admins can see it for now. Continue with Set up a project to add the zones and companies it needs to go live.

Copy settings from an existing project

If you already run similar projects, you can start a new one from an existing project's configuration instead of building it from scratch.

  1. When creating the project, choose to copy from an existing project.
  2. Select the source project (it must be in the same organization).
  3. Choose which settings to copy, or copy everything.

Result: the new project starts with the copied settings already in place.

tip

You can also pre-build parts of the project during creation — phases, zones, and companies can be added right away, or added later in Set up a project.

note

If your organization is billed per project, creating a project may require setting a drawing quota (the number of drawing credits allocated to it). You can add more later — see Project lifecycle.
