Comment and attach photos

Comments and attachments are how your team documents an issue — discussing it, and capturing photos of the defect before and after it's fixed.

Required role: Manager, Collaborator, and Guest can all comment and attach.

Add a comment

  1. Open an issue and go to its Comments.
  2. Type your comment and post it.

Result: your comment appears on the issue and in its activity history.

Edit or delete your comment

You can edit or delete your own comments at any time from the comment's menu. Managers can edit or delete anyone's comments.

Attach photos and files

Attachments document the issue visually. Each attachment has a type:

  • Before photo — the defect as found.
  • After photo — the same spot once resolved.
  • Document or other file.
  1. Open an issue and go to its Attachments (or Photos).
  2. Add a file and choose its type (before, after, document, other).
  3. For photos, you can add annotations (markup on the image).

Result: the attachment is added, and Builddar generates a thumbnail. Photos are optimized automatically.

note

An issue can hold up to 5 before photos and 5 after photos. Documents and other files have no limit.

Upload many at once

Use the bulk upload option to add several files in one go. If one file fails (for example, it would exceed the photo limit), the rest still upload — Builddar reports which succeeded and which didn't.

Edit or delete your attachments

You can update the annotations on your own photos, or delete your own attachments. Managers can manage any attachment on the issue.
