Sign up and log in
There are two ways to get into Builddar:
- Sign up on your own — you create a brand-new account, and Builddar automatically sets up an organization for you with you as its admin.
- Accept an invitation — someone has already invited you to their organization or project, and you complete your account from the invitation link.
This guide covers both, plus logging in and resetting a forgotten password.
Sign up on your own
Use this if no one has invited you and you want to start a new organization.
Signing up has two steps: you enter your details, then you set a password from a link we email you.
Step 1 — Enter your details
- Go to the sign-up page and choose Sign up (or Create account).
- Fill in:
- First name and Last name (required)
- Email (required)
- Phone (optional)
- How did you hear about us? — pick one of: Social media, Google search, Word of mouth, LinkedIn, or Other.
- Submit the form.
Result: we send an activation email to the address you entered. Your account exists but isn't active yet.
If an active account already uses that email, sign-up is blocked. Log in instead, or reset your password if you've forgotten it.
Step 2 — Set your password and activate
- Open the activation email and click the activation link.
- Enter a password and confirm password (they must match).
- Submit.
Result: your account is activated and you're logged in. Builddar automatically creates an organization for you and makes you its admin, so you can start creating projects right away.
Activation links expire. If yours no longer works, start the sign-up again to get a fresh link.
Accept an invitation
Use this if a colleague invited you to their organization or a specific project.
-
Open the invitation email and click the link.
-
If you already have a Builddar account, log in — the invitation is added to your account automatically.
-
If you're new, complete the short form:
- First name, Last name (required)
- Phone (optional)
- A password (required)
Your email is pre-filled from the invitation and can't be changed — it must match the address the invitation was sent to.
-
Submit.
Result: your account is created (if needed) and you're added to the organization or project you were invited to, with the role the inviter chose for you. You're logged in and ready to work.
The email on your account must match the invitation exactly. If they differ, the invitation can't be accepted — ask the person who invited you to re-send it to the right address.
- Go to the login page.
- Enter your email and password.
- Select Log in.
Result: you land in Builddar. If you belong to more than one organization, you can switch between them.
After several failed attempts your account is temporarily locked for security. Wait a few minutes and try again, or reset your password.
Reset a forgotten password
- On the login page, choose Forgot password?
- Enter your email and submit.
- Open the reset email and click the link.
- Enter a new password and confirm password (they must match), then submit.
Result: your password is updated. For security, you're signed out everywhere else and will need to log in again with the new password.
For your privacy, Builddar always says the reset email was sent — even if no account uses that address. If you don't receive it, double-check the email you typed.
Log out
Open your account menu and choose Log out. This ends your session on the current device.
