Upload drawings

Prerequisites: the project needs at least one zone — every drawing is attached to a zone.

Upload a single drawing

  1. Open the project's Drawings area and select New Drawing.
  2. Choose the file — a PDF or an image of the plan.
  3. Fill in:
    • Name — required, for example "Floor 2 — General layout".
    • Zone — required. The zone the drawing describes.
    • Drawing number — optional reference, for example A-101.
    • Discipline — optional, for example Architecture.
    • Description — optional.
  4. Save.

Result: the drawing appears in the project's drawing list and on the zone it's attached to. Builddar generates the thumbnail and the high-resolution preview in the background; the drawing becomes pinnable as soon as they're ready.

note

If you upload a multi-page PDF, Builddar keeps the first page only. Split the file and upload each page as its own drawing so each one can carry its own pins.

Upload several drawings at once

  1. In the Drawings area, choose the bulk upload action.
  2. Select multiple files.
  3. Set the zone (and optionally the discipline) that applies to them.
  4. Upload.

Result: each file becomes a drawing. The response tells you which files succeeded and which failed, so a single bad file doesn't lose the whole batch.

Edit a drawing

  1. Open the drawing and choose Edit.
  2. Change its name, drawing number, description, discipline, or the zone it's attached to.
  3. Save.

Result: the drawing's details update. Existing pins stay where they are.

To change several drawings at once — for example re-assigning a batch to a different discipline — use the bulk update action. A bulk update or delete handles up to 100 drawings at a time.

Delete a drawing

  1. Open the drawing and choose Delete.
  2. Confirm.

Result: the drawing is removed from the project.

caution

Issues that were pinned on a deleted drawing are not deleted — they stay in the project and keep their zone, they just lose their pin position. Re-pin them on a replacement drawing if you need the location back.

Drawing quota

Some organizations are billed per project and get a drawing quota — a fixed number of drawings the project can hold.

  • The project shows how many drawings are used and how many remain.
  • When the quota is exhausted, new uploads are refused until credits are added.

To add creditsRequired role: Organization Admin, and only if your organization is allowed to self-manage credits:

  1. Open the project's settings.
  2. Choose to add drawing credits, enter an amount, and optionally a reason.
  3. Confirm.

Result: the quota increases and uploads resume. Every change is recorded in the project's quota history.

info

Drawing quota applies to per-project billing only. If your organization is billed another way, you won't see it.

Organize by discipline

Required role: Organization Admin to create or edit disciplines.

Disciplines are shared across every project in your organization — see Configure shared catalogs.
