Pin issues on a drawing

A pin puts an issue at an exact coordinate on a plan. Instead of "cracked tile, second bathroom on the left", the contractor sees the spot.

Required role: Manager or Collaborator — pinning creates or edits an issue, which guests can't do. Guests can see pins on issues they're allowed to view.

Prerequisites: a drawing uploaded to the project.

Pin a new issue

  1. Open the drawing.
  2. Tap or click the exact spot on the plan where the defect is.
  3. Fill in the issue: title, detected on, due date, and anything else your project requires — see Create an issue.
  4. Save.

Result: the issue is created with a pin at that position, and appears both on the drawing and in the issue list.

tip

You don't have to pick a zone: choosing a drawing sets the issue's zone automatically to the drawing's zone.

Pin an existing issue

  1. Open the issue.
  2. Choose the drawing it belongs on.
  3. Place the pin at the right spot.
  4. Save.

Result: the issue now shows on the drawing. Its zone follows the drawing's zone.

Move or remove a pin

  1. Open the issue (or the pin on the drawing).
  2. Drag the pin to its new position, or clear the drawing to remove the pin entirely.
  3. Save.

Result: the pin moves, or the issue keeps its zone but no longer appears on any drawing.

Browse pins on a drawing

Opening a drawing shows every pin on it at once — a visual heat map of where the problems are. From there you can:

  • Tap a pin to open its issue.
  • Filter the pins the same way you filter the issue list (by status, assignee, priority, due date), so you can show only what's still open, or only one company's work.
note

Pins respect permissions. A guest only sees pins for issues their company is involved in, and nobody sees pins on a drawing inside a private zone they don't have access to.

Pinning on site, offline

Pin placement works without a connection: the high-resolution preview of each drawing is downloaded ahead of time so you can walk the site, drop pins, and sync when you're back in range. See Working offline.
